See the doctor about erection problems

Make an appointment to see the doctor about your erection problems

The idea of talking to your doctor may make you slightly nervous, but you've got so much to gain by doing it. Why? Because almost all cases of erectile dysfunction (ED) can be treated and it's also really unlikely that the problem will go away on its own.

There could also be more to your ED than what happens in the bedroom. If you're having erection problems it could be a symptom of another condition – it may even be the first symptom you notice. So for the sake of your health, get it checked out and you could stop an undiagnosed problem from getting worse.

Let's admit it, most of us aren't great at saying that something isn't working in bed – particularly to a doctor. In fact, the average guy takes two years to summon the courage. But given that it could be a warning sign of something else, and the fact that two years is a long time to have disappointing sex – making a doctor's appointment really is the best thing you can do.

Your appointment: Talking to your doctor about sex

It may be the first time you've talked about a subject like this, but remember – your doctor will have had this conversation many times before. 1 in 4 men experience ED, which means you won't be saying anything that he or she hasn't already heard.

If you don't want to talk to your regular doctor, there are plenty of alternatives. The important thing is that you see someone you feel comfortable with.
